When Is It Time for New Concrete?
Cracked or uneven concrete isn't just an eyesore; it can be a safety hazard. Here are five signs you may need professional concrete services.
You See Large or Spreading Cracks: Small cracks are normal, but large, deep, or growing cracks can indicate a problem with the base.
The Surface is Sunken or Uneven: Uneven sections of your driveway or walkway create dangerous trip hazards and indicate a failing sub-base.
Water Pools on the Surface: Your driveway or patio has low spots where water collects, which can lead to faster deterioration and icy patches in winter.
The Surface is Pitted or Flaking (Spalling): The top layer of your concrete is crumbling away, which is a sign of age and weather-related damage.
You're Planning a New Project: You're building a new home, garage, or shed that requires a strong, professionally poured foundation or slab.
The Foundation of a Flawless Finish
A perfect concrete surface is only as good as the prep work beneath it. Our process is obsessed with the details of creating a stable, compacted sub-base before we ever pour. This ensures your driveway, patio, or foundation has the strength to resist cracking and last for decades.
Consultation & Project Forming
We start by assessing your project area, discussing your needs, and performing all necessary excavation and grading to ensure a stable sub-base.
Site Prep & Reinforcement
This is the most critical step. We excavate a proper trench and install a compacted gravel base to create a level and incredibly stable foundation for the wall.

Pouring & Professional Finishing
We pour high-strength concrete and use professional techniques to finish the surface, whether it's a smooth trowel, a non-slip broom finish, or a custom decorative stamp.
Curing & Final Sealing
We apply a curing compound to ensure the concrete strengthens properly. After the forms are removed, we clean the job site, leaving you with a beautiful and durable new surface.
Your Concrete Questions Answered
Have questions about your upcoming concrete project? Find clear, straightforward answers to some of the most common inquiries we receive.
What is the difference between concrete and cement?
This is a common point of confusion. Cement is actually just one of the ingredients in concrete. Concrete is a composite material made up of cement (which acts as the binder), water, and aggregates (like sand and gravel).
How long do I have to stay off my new concrete driveway?
You should not walk on your new concrete for at least 24 hours. For a driveway, you should wait a minimum of 7 days before driving a standard passenger vehicle on it. The concrete will continue to cure and harden for weeks.
Do you need to tear out old concrete before pouring new?
Yes, in almost all cases. Pouring a thin layer of new concrete over a cracked and failing slab is a short-term fix that will quickly fail. The proper method is to completely remove the old, unstable concrete and start with a fresh, properly prepared base.
Does my new concrete need to be sealed?
We highly recommend sealing your exterior concrete, especially in a climate like Omaha's. A professional sealant protects the concrete from moisture penetration, salt damage in the winter, and stains, which significantly extends its life and keeps it looking great.
What causes concrete to crack?
All concrete can develop small shrinkage cracks as it cures, which is normal. However, large, structural cracks are often caused by an improperly prepared sub-base that shifts or settles over time, or by the natural freeze-thaw cycle. Our meticulous base preparation is designed to prevent this.
